Big Fin’s best friend is a monkey, now that sounds cruel, but you don’t know the whole story. You see, Fin lives deep in the jungles of Cental America and Puncho the white faced monkey feeds him flowers and bananas. Puncho shares everything with Big Fin. Puncho is a super friend.
Finding super friends like Puncho is hard, but finding category friends is not hard at all. You just have to be open to every kind of friendship and not look for someone who will meet every little need you have of a super friend.
To start, list the things that you like to do into categories. Let’s say you enjoy going to the movies, shopping, golfing and gardening. Once you have your list then find a person that enjoys one of the same things that you do and make them your friend for that purpose or category. If that friend overlaps into other areas that is fine, but if he or she doesn’t then that is fine too. You will find that these category friends are more fun to be with and easier to keep as friends because you don’t have to include them in the parts of your life that they have little enterest in, but because you share the same category interest, both of you energize each other while doing the thing that you both enjoy doing.
